Students who graduate from CKM’s
Humanities and International Studies
Program continue their exploration of
the world and their own personal
journeys of self-discovery during their
college years and beyond. HISP
alumni—nearly 2,500 since the program’s
inception in 1985 (see
HISP History)—have taken that unique
global perspective gained from HISP and
applied their remarkable skills and
talents in a wide array of fields and in
all parts of the world. Some have made
their mark on the state, national, and
international stage. Many have embraced
a life filled with work that changes the
world—one step at a time. Others have
explored their own creativity and
expressed themselves through varied
artistic endeavors. HISP alumni are
invited to join our
Facebook group to stay in the loop
on alumni news and events.

the fascinating lives HISP alumni are
leading. See HISP Alum in the News for a
series of short vignettes and links to
online media about alumni. If you know a
HISP alum making news, be sure to
let us
know—we’d love
to feature his or her story.
Current and
prospective HISP students value the
insights of those who have graduated
from HISP. See
Alumni Testimonials to view personal
insights about the impact the program
has had on students and their lives.
HISP alumni are encouraged to
share
their perspectives, thoughts, and
memories about what the program has
meant to them.
On
April 16, 2011, nearly 200
people gathered to celebrate the
25th anniversary of the
Humanities and International
Studies Program housed at C. K.
McClatchy High School. Current
and alumni parents, current and
retired staff, community
supporters and nearly 60 alumni
enjoyed a beautiful spring
evening and toasted the success
of HISP and those students who
have passed through the program.

HISP relies
solely on current HISP students and
their families for financial and
volunteer support. During these tough
budget times, the program is seeking
additional resources to better support
students, teachers, and the program
overall. We hope you will consider
giving the gift of your time and talent
or making a donation (see PayPal option
below or use a
Direct Donation
Form). Stay tuned for more details
on our fundraising and alumni
involvement plans.

Every
graduating HISP senior is accepted to at
least one college or university, with a
majority receiving multiple acceptances
from schools throughout the region,
state, and nation. A few students elect
to study abroad or take a year off to
travel. Discover where recent HISP
graduates elected to attend college and
